Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use www.cobaltreef.com or the Orphie app. The website and the app are provided by Cobalt Reef LLC (“Cobalt Reef”, “we”, “us”). By using them, you agree to these terms.

Getting Orphie from an app store

If you get Orphie from Apple’s App Store, your license to use it is Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, together with these terms. If you get it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply. If these terms and the store’s terms conflict, the store’s terms win.

Orphie keeps records; it doesn’t give advice

Orphie helps you keep a mileage log. The deduction amounts it shows are estimates: your business miles multiplied by the IRS standard mileage rate for the date of each shift. They aren’t tax, legal, or accounting advice, and they don’t guarantee what you can deduct. You’re responsible for what goes on your tax return. Talk to a qualified tax professional about your situation.

You’re also responsible for your log being accurate: start, pause, and end your shifts so they reflect your real business driving.

Drive safely

Don’t use your phone in a way that distracts you from driving. Set up a shift before you pull out, and follow the traffic and phone-use laws where you drive. Orphie is designed for quick glances, but the road always comes first.

Your data

Your Orphie records stay on your phone, and you’re responsible for keeping your phone and its backups. Deleting the app deletes its data. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.

Sold By Robots and QuickBooks Sync

Access to Sold By Robots and QuickBooks Sync is governed by the separate agreement each merchant accepts before using them, not by these terms.

Ownership

Cobalt Reef owns the website, the apps, and their names, logos, and designs. You may use the apps for your own work, but you may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer them except where the law allows. Other companies’ names, such as Apple, Google, Amazon, Intuit, Shopify, and WooCommerce, belong to those companies. Naming them doesn’t mean they endorse us.

Disclaimers

The website and the apps are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise they’ll be error-free or always available, or that any estimate they show will match what you can deduct.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Cobalt Reef isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or tax penalties, arising from your use of the website or the apps. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top of this page. If you keep using the website or the apps after a change, the updated terms apply.
